A small, family-run boutique hotel set in a white-stuccoed Victorian terrace on Inverness Terrace in Bayswater. Its strength is the location: the northern edge of Hyde Park is barely a couple of minutes on foot, while the cafés, restaurants and shops of Queensway sit right around the corner. Queensway and Bayswater Underground stations and the mainline and Heathrow Express links at Paddington are all within easy reach, putting the whole city within a short ride — Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, the West End and Madame Tussauds included. With 28 guestrooms, a rate that includes breakfast and a small terrace to sit out on, it is an unpretentious, well-placed base rather than a luxury stay. Note that it lies in West London, across town from Tower Bridge, so the bridge is a straightforward Tube journey rather than a walk.
